HOUSE BURIED IN LANDSLIDE BUT PM'S PRINCIPAL PRIVATE SEC SAFE

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 6 (Bernama) -- The prime minister's principal private
secretary, Mohamed Thajudeen Abdul Wahab, escaped the landslide in Bukit
Antarabangsa, Hulu Klang, Saturday morning because he was in his mother's house
in Kampung Baru at the time.

Bukit Antarabangsa is a famous hillside township in Ulu Klang, a popular
residential area, in sSelangor, Malaysia. It is dubbed the Beverly Hills of
Malaysia because many famous Malaysian celebrities and artistes live
here.

Kampung Baru is a Malay enclave in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

He said he and his four family members slept at his mother's house last
night because he had returned late from official business.

Mohamed Thajudeen, whose house was among 14 houses buried in the landslide,
told reporters that he was informed of the incident by his neighbour at about
4am and arrived at the scene an hour later.

He said he had been staying in the house for 20 years and was shocked by
what he saw at the scene.

"I thank God that I'm safe. Maybe it was God's will that I was staying at
my
mother's house and not in Bukit Antarabangsa (at the time of the incident)," he
said.
