Top Ranked Carnatic Violinist Kanyakumari To Perform In Kuala Lumpur
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 (Bernama) -- One of India's top ranked carnatic violinist A.Kanyakumari will be showcasing her unique talent here this Saturday.
A statement issued by the High Commission of India here said that the solo Carnatic Violin concert "Wedded to the Violin" would be held at the Shantanand Auditorium, Temple of Fine Arts, Brickfields here at 7 pm.
"With the extensive experience of more than four decades, she is the first female violinist to have conducted programmes and performances of high magnitudes and given a non-stop marathon performance for 29 hours in 1998," it said.
She has also played a raagamalika piece of 100 different ragas.
Her other notable performances included solo concert at the prestigious Kennedy Centre, Washington DC, United States, Albert Hall, London and Jazz festival in Germany along with Sri Kadri Gopalnath and other jazz artistes.
She will be accompanied by violinist Bombay V. Anand, mridangist K. Visveswara Prasad and ganjira player Bangalore Amrit Nataraj.
She will also will perform at Ipoh this Friday.
