Top German Official Stresses Iran's Key Role In Fighting Daesh

Berlin, Oct 22, IRNA - A senior German security official highlighted Iran's crucial role in combating Daesh terrorism. Talking to the German radio station Deutschlandfunk, the head of the Munich Security Conference Wolfgang Ischinger reiterated the Daesh crisis could only be resolved, if Iran, Russia and China are included in the anti-terror campaign. It's important to get Iran, Russia and China on board for the war against terrorism, he added. Ischinger made clear there could be no peace in the region in places like Syria, Iraq and Yemen without the active participation of Iran, Russia and China. He warned the US of ignoring Iran's stabilizing role in the Mideast as a major regional power, urging Washington to take courageous steps on this issue. Meanwhile, the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz reaffirmed Iran's important role in tackling Daesh./end
