M'SIA CELEBRATES EID AL-ADHA WITH MUCH THANKS
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 8 (Bernama) -- Muslims in Malaysia Monday celebrated Eid al-Adha with much thankfulness and spirit of sacrifice in the face of various uncertainties and calamities.
In the east coast states of Kelantan and Terengganu, despite floods, the
Eid al-Adha celebrations were joyous.
And at the landslide scene in Bukit Antarabangsa, near here, although
search and rescue (SAR) personnel were busy with operations, they still took
some time off to perform Eid al-Adha prayers with Muslim residents of the
area.
The tragedy, which occurred at about 4am on Saturday, had killed four
people and flattened 14 bungalows.
The search and rescue (SAR) operation at the landslide area, called off at
6.30pm Sunday, was resumed at 9.30pm that night following a report a Sri Lankan
maid was missing and could be trapped in the rubble.
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi performed the Eid al-Adha prayers
at the Al Jamiul Badawi Mosque in Kepala Batas, in the northern state of Penang
while his deputy Najib Razak did so at the National Mosque here.
