Russia sends 3,000 tonnes of relief aid to Ukraine’s Donbass

MOSCOW, October 29. /TASS/. A Russian humanitarian aid convoy for residents in Lugansk and Donetsk regions in troubled southeast Ukraine that left the Moscow region on Tuesday came to south-central Russia’s Voronezh region. The relief aid convoy will go to the border with Ukraine after drivers take some rest and refuel their trucks, deputy head of the Emergencies Ministry’s national centre of management in emergency situations Oleg Voronov told TASS.
The humanitarian aid convoy is made of 100 trucks. One thousand tonnes of cargoes, including building materials, food products, medicines and supplies for winter preparation are being delivered for residents in Lugansk and Donetsk regions. Emergency jets have also supplied relief supplies totalling around 100 tonnes in southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don where cargoes will be reloaded on trucks, the senior emergencies official said.
Russian relief aid convoys plan to deliver up to three thousand tonnes of humanitarian aid to Lugansk and Donetsk regions within a week, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Stepanov said.
This is already fourth Russian humanitarian aid convoy. First three convoys supplied a total six thousand tonnes of cargoes, particularly foodstuffs, including cereals and canned food, medicines, power generators, warm clothes and bottled drinking water to Donetsk and Lugansk.
