Tawazun hails successful Art Abu Dhabi festival

Abu Dhabi (WAM): Tawazun Holding has hailed the successful Art Abu Dhabi 2014 and said it has remained one of the main participants in the event. Tawazun’s CEO Saif Mohammed Al Hajeri said the company has also remained one of the key buyers of the festival’s art work out of its keenness to support the event, which is held on Saadiyat island. During a panel discussion titled 'Art Collectors in the U.A.E.', Al Hajeri explained the company’s participation in the presence of health minister and chairman of the Dubai culture and arts establishment Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais and Dana Farouqi, a Palestinian-American independent curator and collector of international contemporary art. The Panel was moderated by Anna Sommers. He spoke about the fine arts and their importance in the society and the art in general and highlighted Tawazun’s efforts to support such events. "We in Tawazun believe that art is a means of communication among people and cultures in the world and that is why we strongly support such events and the efforts of Abu Dhabi tourism and culture authority," he said. "We affirm again that culture is one of the best means to bring about understanding and coexistence among all people and civilisations this event is a message from Abu Dhabi in this regards." He noted that Abu Dhabi-based Tawazun has remained one of the key buyers of paintings at Art Abu Dhabi since the event was launched six years ago.
