MONGOLIA AND RIO TINTO TO SET UP WORKING GROUP

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The government of Mongolia and the Rio Tinto Group have concurred to establish a working group in near future with an aim to develop a calculating system and registration of mineral royalties to be accorded with income tax and other tax levy and records. It was said at a meeting between the Minister of Finance J.Erdenebat and the Rio Tinto Group CEO of Copper Mr Jean-Sebastien Jacques last Friday. At the meeting, the sides discussed a present situation of the Oyu Tolgoi LLC, an export of copper concentrate to Japan, and economic benefits from underground mine.
