Azerbaijan Student Network & Czech National Museum hold joint event

Baku, December 19, AzerTAc The National Museum of Czech Republic, National Museum of Azerbaijan Republic, Náprstek Museum of Asian, African and American Cultures in Prague in cooperation with Azerbaijan Student Network hosted an event called Colorful pre-Christmas afternoon at the Museum, according to Azerbaijan Student Network. This annual event designed specifically for kids and their parents allowed visitors to submerge in the world of Azerbaijan, also known as the “Land of Fire”, a country with a remarkable history and unique cultural heritage presented in an exhibition called Azerbaijan – The Magical Land of Fire. The exhibition was organized by the National Museum of History Azerbaijan together with National Museum – Náprstek Museum of Asian, African and American Cultures in Prague and presented the magic of Azerbaijan through its ancient archaeological and architectural objects from antiquity to 19th century. Visitors were presented pottery, jewelry, coins, masterfully worked metal objects, music instruments and weapons that described rich cultural heritage of this beautiful country. Very interesting is also collection of Azerbaijani carpets reflecting colours and diversity of local nature. Besides the brilliantly presented culture and history, on December 7th kids had an opportunity to listen to an Azerbaijani fairy tale Three princes presented to them by ASN’s Johana Truneckova wearing traditional Azerbaijani national dress. Then it was followed by a workshop where small visitors could put together a mosaic from Nizami’s poems or in case of boys create a replica of Azerbaijani dagger. While keeping kids’ hands busy, Azerbaijan Student Network also offered them and their parents to taste such jewels of Azerbaijani cuisine as dolma and plov, and of course all found a great joy in tasting traditional Azerbaijani sweets – pakhlava. Moreover, ASN also offered them to test their knowledge and try to win valuable presents such as books, magazines and miniature carpets.
