Japan grants USD 4.3 million for Budo centre construction

(KPL) The Japanese Government has provided USD4.3 million (JPY400 million) to the Lao National Sports Committee (LNSC) for the construction of martial arts sport Budo centre in Vientiane.
The centre will be used for holding sport competition events of karatedo, judo and aikido at the 25th SEA Games in Vientiane next year.
The signing ceremony was held on Tuesday in Vientiane by Vice President of the Lao National Sports Committee, Mr Somphou Phongsa, and Manager of the Japanese International Affairs Department, Mr Yukinobu Morikawa. The Japanese Kanto Construction Company and Sanpo International Corporation will commence the construction at the end of this month and will complete it by the next year’s end.
At the signing ceremony, Mr Somphou Phongsa highly valued the Japanese government assistance to Laos, which contributes to the development of Lao athletes and the enhancement of the relations and cooperation between Laos and Japan.
