Ho Chi Minh donates 195 wheelchairs to Laos
(KPL) The Ho Chi Minh Foundation for Helping Poor and Patients, Vietnam, has donated 195 wheelchairs to the Lao Foundation for Helping Poor People.
In a ceremony held in Pakse district, Champassak province, late last month, the donations were presented by Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh People’s Committee, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, to President of the Lao Foundation for Helping Poor People, Ms Sisaliao Thammatheva.
“After establishing the foundation we have received aid packages from the Association for Helping Poor and Patients of Ho Chi Minh,” said Ms. Sisaliao Thammatheva.
Last year the Association for Helping Poor Patients of Ho Chi Minh sent surgeons to help Lao officials provide free-of-charge operations to 4,887 people suffering from cataract in Vientiane, Champassak, Attapeu, Sekong and Saravane. They also presented 295 wheelchairs to disabled people in these southern provinces.
