IT'S ALL SYSTEMS GO AT SULTAN ISKANDAR COMPLEX STARTING TUESDAY

JOHOR BAHARU (Malaysia), Dec 13 (Bernama) -- The new Customs, Immigration
and Quarantine (CIQ), the Southern Integrated Gateway, housed at Sultan Iskandar
Complex in Bukit Chagar would be fully operational starting Tuesday.

Johor Baharu South Police Chief ACP Zainuddin Yaakob said the complex, in
southern state of Johore, would be fully operational to process all documents
involved in the entry and exit of public, buses, vans, cars and motorcycles, to
and from Singapore, starting 12.01am (Tuesday).

"To facilitate the changes, the immigration counter at Jalan Tun Razak will
be closed at 11.45pm on Monday and traffic heading to Singapore should not use
the path," he said here Friday.

Zainuddin urged all traffic flowing towards Singapore to use Jalan Saw Mill
(behind Sentral Police Station) in the city to Jalan Pantai Lido and Jalan Wong
Ah Fook before entering Jalan Lingkaran Dalam to reach the Sultan Iskandar
complex.

He added that traffic police would be stationed at strategic points to ease
traffic flow and provide directions to motorist.

All lorries however would maintain the existing route to enter and exit
Singapore, he said.

"For motorist, there are three routes that lead to the complex, the first
one is through Jalan Lingkaran Dalam-enter Jalan Stulang Darat-traffic lights
and enter Sultan Iskandar Complex.

"The second route is via Jalan Pasir Pelangi-Jalan Stulang Darat-enter
Jalan
Lingkaran Dalam-make a U-turn at Jalan Lingkaran Dalam or U-turn at traffic
lights to Tanjung Puteri and enter Jalan Lingkaran Dalam in front of Abda
Restaurant and into the complex.

"The third route is through Jalan Stulang Laut-Jalan Ibrahim Sultan traffic
lights-enter Jalan Lingkaran Dalam in front of Abda Restaurant and head to the
complex," he said.
