Deputy PM meets Ambassador of Japan

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Deputy Prime Minister Mr U.Khurelsukh has awarded the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Mr Shimizu Takenori the "Distinguished Figure of Emergency" title. At their meeting on Friday the deputy PM said this is the recognition of the his contribution the Ambassador made to the emergency sector of Mongolia. He also said our Government greatly appreciates and values the contribution of Japanese government's official aid for development to the contemporary development of Mongolia and the deepening of democracy and reforms. "Mongolia still needs this type of assistance for a certain period of time," he added. In response, the Ambassador said the Embassy will pursue a settlement on whether the emergency projects such as “Combating Bird Flu” and “Improving the Fire Fighting Capacity of Ulaanbaatar” projects will be continued here. He invited Mr Khurelsukh to the Third World Conference on the UN Disaster Risk Reduction which is expected in Sendai of Japan on this March 14-18. Several years ago, Khurelsukh had participated in this conference when he had been the Minister of Emergency.
