President meets Chairman of State Duma

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The leader of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj Monday received visiting Mr S.Ye.Naryshkin, the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. Mr Elbegdorj thanked the high guest and accompanying him officials for visiting Mongolia and wished them an enjoyment and success for the visit here. The first Prime Minister of Mongolia Sain Noyon Khan T.Namnansuren paid a visit to Russia in 1911, this became the first state visit of Mongolia's PM, "during which Mr Namnansuren studied the activity of the Russian State Duma and then established here upper and lower houses at the State Great Khural or parliament of Mongolia. It is a pleasure to remember this historical event, and I believe that Your visit will contribute to the promotion of inter-parliamentary relations between our countries," Mr Elbegdorj said. In response, Mr Naryshkin expressed a gratitude to the President for receiving him and conveyed greetings of the Russian President V.Putin to Mr Elbegdorj. He also congratulated Mongolians on the upcoming Lunar New Year. He went on that our countries have traditionally friendly relations, and that "enhancing the strategic ties with Mongolia has been a priority of the Russian foreign policy". "We also appreciate Mongolia for considering its relations with Russia as a priority of its foreign policy," he said. The President talked about the last year's successful visit of his Russian counterpart to Mongolia and underlined that a signing of many important documents contributed to bilateral relations' expansion. Mr Elbegdorj noted he met five times with the Russian President in 2014. Then he thanked the President of Russia for giving an invitation to the 70th anniversary of the Victory on Great Patriotic War. Mr Elbegdorj said he can also meet with his Russian counterpart during a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Ufa of Russia. The President expressed a satisfaction with the increasing number of Mongolian and Russian visitors thanks to the visa-free agreement, and conveyed his greetings to Mr Vladimir Putin.
