Home museum of prominent political figure opens in Moscow
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A ceremony has run at Mongolia’s Embassy in the Russian Federation to open a home museum of late Sambuu Jamsran, the chairman of the Presidium of the People's Great Khural and the first Ambassador of Mongolia to former Soviet Union, on occasion of the 120th anniversary of J.Sambuu to be celebrated this year. It was reported Wednesday by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.
A prominent political figure worked as the Ambassador of Mongolia to the Soviet Union in times of the Khalkh River Battle, Great Patriotic War and Liberation War of 1945.
The home museum displays a desk and framed photos depicting moments of the three big wars. There are also several photos of J.Sambuu, presenting how he presents diplomatic credentials to M.I.Kalinin, the chairman of the Supreme Council’s Presidium of the Soviet Union; and a "Advice for herders" book published in 1944 and translated into Russian.
J.Sambuu was born in 1895 in Tov aimag’s Buren soum. He became a clerk in local and provincial administrations at age of 16. Following the Revolution of 1921, he joined the Mongolian People's Party (MPP) and secured an important position in the Ministry of Finance in 1922.
