Internet portal Daum introduces new password system
SEOUL, Dec. 17 (Yonhap) -- Daum Communications Corp., South Korea's
second-largest Internet portal, said Wednesday that it has introduced the use of
one-time passwords.
A user can choose to log in to Daum's portal site either with a one-time password
or traditional static password, it said.
The service of a one-time password is to make it more difficult to gain
unauthorized access to restricted resources, such as an e-mail account, by
automatically generating a new password every time a user tries to log on.
In order to use one-time passwords, users need to use the newest version of the
portal's web browser toolbar, which can be downloaded from the Web site starting
Wednesday.
