MOTOROLA EYES BIGGER SHARE OF ASIA PACIFIC'S TWO-WAY RADIO MARKET

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 17 (Bernama) -- Motorola is confident of capturing a
bigger share of the Asia Pacific two-way radio market with the launch of its
new digital radio system called MOTOTRBO Wednesday.

Albert Wong, the director of distribution South and East Asia, Government
and Public Safety said as the market leader in the industry, Motorola was
optimistic of achieving strong growth in the two-way radio business next
year.

"Despite the current global economic crisis, we anticipate a very
good demand for MOTOTRBO," he told reporters at the launching ceremony
Wednesday.

He said MOTOTRBO is the first two-way radio equipped with an internet
protocol site connect application to be launched in the region and it enables
users to link up to 15 connections.

"It instantly creates a wide-area network where users can share transfer
business-critical voice and data information across multiple geographic
locations, eliminating the impact of physical barriers," Wong explained.

Prices range from a starting price of RM1,500 and MOTOTRBO is designed to
meet the expanding needs and challenges of customers in various industries such
as transportation, construction and manufacturing which require a highly
reliable business critical communications solution, he noted.

He said to futher enhance its after sales service, Motorola has also
introduced its new RadioCARE service program to provide an on-location response
to customer's requests including free consultation, radio maintenance and system
istallation.
