Secretary-General of Nuclear Energy Commission appointed

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A nuclear physicist G.Manlaijav was appointed the Secretary-General of the Nuclear Energy Commission (NEC) on April 15. He had recently been holding a position of a deputy director of the Institute of Physic Technology at the Academy of Sciences. He had satisfied a degree in nuclear physics at the Mongolian State University. Mr Manlaijav has worked as an engineer at the Central Laboratory for Radiation Control of the State Authority for Hygiene and Contamination Control, a laboratory curator for radiation control and configuration at the Nuclear Energy Commission, a general inspector for radiation control and a head of radiation control office at the General Agency for Specialized Inspection, a head of the departments of Nuclear and Radiation and Control and of Nuclear technology at the Nuclear Energy Agency, and an acting director of the agency. In accordance with the government resolution No.72 issued in 2015, the renewed composition of the NEC will be responsible for several activities, including a utilization of radio-active minerals and nuclear energy, introduction of nuclear technologies, development of related studies, and an ensuring of the nuclear and radiation security.
