P.TSAGAAN RECEIVES ATTORNEY-GENERAL OF THAILAND

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On April 28, the Chief of Staff of the President’s Office P.Tsagaan received delegates led by Mr Trakul Winitnaiyapak, the Attorney General of the Kingdom of Thailand. The meeting ran right after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Mongolian Office of Prosecutor-General and Thailand’s Office of Attorney General. “I am glad to hear about it,” noted Mr Tsagaan and said the President of Mongolia has been implementing policies on forwarding the court reform, combating a corruption and bureaucracy in public services and the illegal actions by the state authorities, and on refining the legal environment. “Our Office of Prosecutor-General is playing a leading role in the implementation of laws and regulations initiated by the President,” he added. He gave the guest information about processes that took place in Mongolia in the last 25 years, for example, how Mongolia had made a peaceful transition from socialism to democracy and on what principles the Constitution had been worked out and adopted. He added that many countries, Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar including, are learning from Mongolia’s practices of democracy. He asked Mr Winitnaiyapak about the expected date of adoption of the new constitution of Thailand. In response, Mr Winitnaiyapak noted that Thailand has a specific feature: the people are faithful to their King, and said that a renovation committee is working on the constitution draft, adding that the date of adoption is not clear. After this meeting, the delegates of the Attorney-General’s Office of Thailand visited the State Protocol Complex and the Hall of the State nine white banners. B.Amarsaikhan
