M'SIAN PM LEAVES FOR THREE-DAY VISIT TO IRAN


PETALING JAYA (Malaysia), Dec 19 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Abdullah
Ahmad Badawi left for Iran Friday for a three-day official visit.

Accompanied by his wife, Jeanne Abdullah, and Home Minister Syed Hamid
Albar and his wife, he took off from the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) base
in Subang on board a special aircraft after the Friday prayers.

The visit is to foster bilateral ties and explore opportunities to enhance
joint ventures in the corporate sectors of both countries.

Bilateral between the two countries stood at RM3.59 billion last year.

Malaysia's main exports to Iran include palm oil, chemicals and chemical
and
agricultural products.
