Chinese leader arrives in Moscow to join WWII commemorations

MOSCOW, May 8. /TASS/. Chinese leader Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow on Friday for an official visit and participation in celebrations marking 70 years since Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in World War Two. Xi will attend the traditional military parade on Red Square, in which representatives of the Chinese Armed Forces will also take part. The Chinese president is also expected to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. The two leaders will exchange views on a wide range of international and regional issues and discuss prospects of boosting Russian-Chinese interaction in various multilateral formats. Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said on Wednesday that some 40 documents in the spheres of energy, transport, military and technical cooperation are due to be signed during the visit. Before leaving for Moscow, Xi said that China remembered the Soviet people's great feat in World War Two. "The feats of Russians will forever be imprinted in history and will never fade," he said.
