M'SIAN BUSINESSMEN SHOULD COOPERATE WITH FOREIGN COUNTERPARTS IN TACKLING
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 20 (Bernama) -- In an increasingly challenging economic
climate, Malaysians in the business sector should work closer together with
their foreign counterparts for business opportunities.
The Deputy Prime Minister's wife Rosmah Mansor who made the call,
said with such close cooperation with their counterparts in neighbouring
countries, they could help Malaysia overcome the economic problems and at the
same time increase business opportunities for local companies.
She was speaking when launching the "Discover South Sulawesi" exhibition,
being held for the first time in Malaysia by the South Sulawesi government,
here, today.
On the exhibition aimed at promoting tourism in Sulawesi, Rosmah said with
its strategic location between Borneo and the island of Maluku, Sulawesi could
be used by Malaysian entrepreneurs to expand their business there as well as to
Indonesia's eastern and western regions.
She said this was also facilitated by the air service between Kuala Lumpur
and Makassar, which could also increase travel between Malaysia and
Indonesia.
The three-day "Discover South Sulawesi: Trade, Tourism and Investment Fair
2008" beginning Friday, is held at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre from 10am to
9pm.
