PAKISTAN MILITARY COLLEGE TO HONOUR 27 M'SIAN ARMED FORCES OFFICERS
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 20 (Bernama) -- Twenty-seven Malaysian armed forces
officers are to be awarded the Centenary Medal by the Command and Staff College
in Quetta, Pakistan, on Tuesday in conjunction with Pakistan's Defence
Day.
The ceremony to present the awards, to be given to those who graduated
from
the academy prior to 2005, is being organised by the Pakistan High Commission
here in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of the college.
A High Commission statement said Friday one of the recipients would be
former Chief of Defence Forces Gen (Rtd) Mohd Ghazali Che Mat who was
trained at the military institution in 1961.
The college, the oldest and most prestigious institution of the
Pakistan
Army and the alma mater of many renowned soldiers from all over the world, was
set up in 1905 and has been receiving trainees from Malaysia since 1959 for a
year-long course, it said.
Among the other recipients would be Maj Gen (Rtd) Lai Chung Wah (1963), Maj
Gen (Rtd) Raja Ibrahim Raja Shariman (1971), Brig Gen (Rtd) Ali Musa
(1977), Brig Gen Che Hasni Che Ahmad (1985), Maj Gen (Rtd) Badrulzaman A. Rani
(1988), Maj (Rtd) Ahmad Tahir Mohd Said (1992) and Maj (Rtd)
Adnan Yaakub (1993).
Malaysia's Chief of Defence Forces Gen Abdul Aziz Zainal will be
the guest of honour at the ceremony.
