AZERBAIJANI OMBUDSPERSON HOSTS “ROUNDTABLE” MEETING ON REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND FAMILY PLANNING
Baku, 26 December,(AzerTAj)On the occasion of the International Day of Biological Diversity, commissioner for human rights of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova held a “roundtable” meeting to discuss the draft law on protection of reproductive health and family planning.
Suleymanova stressed the importance of protecting biodiversity all around the world.
She told of the measures the Azerbaijan government takes in this area, adding
Azerbaijan had become a party to the international convention on biodiversity.
Discussions at the meeting revolved around protection of health of women and
children including their rights and freedoms.
The meeting was attended by Milli Majlis deputies, representatives of governmental
and non-governmental organizations and media.
