AZERBAIJAN OMBUDSMAN`S OFFICE HOLDS ROUNDTABLE ON DRAFT LAW ON “REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND FAMILY PLANNING”
Baku, 27 December,(AzerTAj)Azerbaijan`s Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudswoman) Elmira Suleymanova held a roundtable meeting on public debate of the draft law on “Reproductive health and family planning” within the International Biodiversity Day.
Elmira Suleymanova stressed the significance of biodiversity across the world, and spoke of relevant measures undertaken in her country.
She said as many developed countries, Azerbaijan has joined the International Biodiversity Convention.
Speakers at the event, including Director of the Research Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology Faiza Aliyeva, MP Elmira Akhundova, Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Aynur Sofiyeva, the director of AIDs Prevention Center Hagigat Gadimova, Head of Independent Research Center Irada
Yagubova said that all necessary measures are being taken in the country to protect rights of women and children.
MPs, officials, representatives of NGOs, as well as media articipated in the meeting.
