Honorary consulate opens in Eskisehir

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Ceremony was held August 14 for opening the Honorary Consulate of Mongolia in Eskisehir, Turkey. The governor of Eskisehir province Güngör Azim Tuna, mayor of Eskisehir city Yılmaz Büyükerşen, the Ambassador of Mongolia to the Republic of Turkey B.Batkhishig and the accredited honorary consul of Mongolia Ilhan Köse gave speeches. Ambassador B.Batkhishig noted “we are witnessing one of the most important event in the history of the friendly relations between the two countries” as Mongolia now has its consulate in Eskisehir, an industrial, cultural and educational center of Turkey. “I am confident that the Consul will do much for expanding trade and economic cooperation, increasing the number of Mongolian student in the city and to protect the legal interests and rights of Mongolian citizens living in Eskisehir”, he said. Present at the ceremony were, the senior advisor to the Turkish prime minister Prof. Emine Nur Günay along with members of the Grand National Assembly (Parliament)of Turkey and authorities of Turkey’s chambers of trade and industry. Some 200 Mongolians have graduated from two universities of Eskisehir city, and 30 Mongolians are currently studying in the universities.
