150 people demonstrate in front of Israeli Embassy in Tokyo+

TOKYO, Dec. 30 Kyodo - About 150 people gathered in front of the Israeli Embassy in Tokyo on Tuesday to protest against Israel's airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.

At the protest organized by Amnesty International Japan and some other civic
groups, the participants held up banners that read ''Don't kill children'' and
''Don't wage a war,'' as police officers watched them nearby.
The protesters also placed candles and flowers on the street to pray for the
souls of those who have been killed in airstrikes, which began Saturday.
Hidehito Okouchi, a member of the nonprofit organization Campaign for the
Children of Palestine, read out a message saying that children in Gaza Strip
are not receiving sufficient nutrition and local hospitals are paralyzed due to
a chronic shortage of medical supplies.
He demanded that Israel allow medical and food supplies as well as humanitarian
aid workers to enter Gaza.
