Thai PM arrives in New York for UN General Assembly

BANGKOK, September 25 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has arrived in New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly 2015. Accompanied by his entourage, including his wife, Naraporn Chan-ocha, Prime Minister General Prayut landed at John F Kennedy Airport in New York at about 10:45am on September 24 (local time), 11 hours behind Thailand’s time. The Thai prime minister is scheduled to attend the 70th United Nations General Assembly at 10am on September 25 (local time). The Thai leader will first listen to a speech of Pope Francis before the opening ceremony of the UN General Assembly. Later in the afternoon, the Thai premier will deliver his speech on “Ending Poverty and Hunger” during the Interactive Dialogue 1 at the UN General Assembly. The Thai prime minister will then visit an exhibition on the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy at the UN headquarters, before meeting a delegation of US business executives in the evening. (TNA)
