World Aids Day Activities Started in Riyadh
Riyadh, December 30, SPA -- HIV cases in Saudi Arabia rose to around
1142 in 2007 with 375 Saudis and 767 non-Saudis constituting
percentages of 32, 8% and 67, 2% respectively, officials said.
In a speech marking the opening of World Aids Day activities at
Prince Sultan health Center in Diryiah, the Director General of
Health Affairs in Riyadh, Dr. Hisham Nadhira said that "the Ministry
of Health has adopted a new strategy aimed at fighting the virus
through a set of educational programs. The awareness-raising programs
focus primarily on the young population in Saudi Arabia and encourge
the discovery of HIV cases before registering them".
