GOASEAN To Launch Online Booking System, Help Users Optimise Travelling Needs

By Nur Ashikin Abdul Aziz KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4 (Bernama) -- Award-winning travel channel, GOASEAN will launch its online travel booking system - LetsGoNow - to help users optimise their overall ASEAN travelling needs and experience. In a reply to Bernama's email, GOASEAN said the booking system which would be launched on Nov 13, was already operational on its website, www.goasean.com, and would be on mobile application at month-end. GOASEAN is also shown on ASTRO Channel 737 in Malaysia and Brunei. "While the announcement of the mobile app will be done on the same day (Nov 13), it will however, only be ready for download on App Store (for iOS) and Play Store (for Android) at the end of November 2015," it said. According to GOASEAN, LetsGoNow is built to complete the GOASEAN experience where the audience can go from reading, viewing and watching the treasure troves of Southeast Asia, to planning their ultimate holiday getaway and personally experience a taste of ASEAN by booking their holiday through the system. "LetsGoNow will also allow our audience to book flights, accommodations, on-ground transportation, attraction tickets and tour packages. These features will be introduced in the very near future," it said. GOASEAN, the world's first ASEAN-focused travel initiative to promote ASEAN as a single tourism destination, features key areas such as community-based tourism, culture, heritage, entertainment and business. As the Chair of ASEAN in 2015, Malaysia is spearheading the GOASEAN initiative to promote travel and spur economic growth within the region. It has garnered international accolades, having won five awards after it was launched by Prime Minister Najib Razak in June. GOASEAN won both the Gold and Silver awards respectively, for Best Travel Website and Best Tourism Website from the prestigious W3 Awards, which recognises digital communications excellence. It also won another two awards recently, for being the Best Asia Pacific Destination Website, and silver for the Best Tourism Website by TravelMole Asia Pacific Web Awards 2015 and Davey Awards 2015, respectively.
