President visits agriculture demonstration centre
(KPL) President Choummaly Sayasone and his wife visited the Laos-China Agriculture Demonstration and Research Centre in Vientiane on 31 December.
The other members of the entourage are the Mayor of Vientiane, the Chinese Ambassador to Laos, the President of Hualy Agriculture Company and representatives of related organizations.
President of the Hoaly Agriculture Company briefed the visitors, saying that the Laos-China Agriculture Demonstration and Research Centre was established in 2004 by two cities, Vientiane and Chongying, China, and they funded the building of the farm complex.
During the period 2005-2007, it has completed the building the glass house to grow vegetables, acquired the machine to sow rice and it has also carried out the rearing of pigs, poultry, and rabbits.
President Choummaly complimented the Chinese government and people for contributing to the socio-economic development of Laos especially in introducing cutting edge agriculture to Laos.Because of this project the two cities, Vientiane and Chongying, have not only established good relations but have come closer than ever.
