Nearly 20,000 vehicles ordered in Motor Expo 2015

BANGKOK, Dec 9 (TNA) -- Kwanchai Paphatphong, organizing chairman of the 32nd Thailand International Motor Expo 2015, said 19,128 vehicles were ordered in the first seven days of the exposition from Dec 1 to 7. The biggest share of the orders went to Toyota (2,541 vehicles), followed by Isuzu (2,464), Honda (2,236), Mazda (1,768) and Nissan (1,482). The sales of luxury cars were satisfactory as visitors ordered 652 Mercedes Benz cars and 420 BMWs. Visitors were also interested in big bikes as they ordered 2,583 such motorcycles: 543 Yamaha, 348 Triumph, 328 Kawasaki, 324 Honda and 308 GPX. "When the exposition ends, the orders should be close to our estimate, between 45,000 and 50,000 vehicles. Visitors have six more days (Dec 8-13) consisting of three working days and three holidays. I expect a large number of visitors on holidays. About 1.5 million people should visit the exposition and the number will rise by about 10% from last year's event," Mr Kwanchai said. (TNA)
