Qatar Investment Authority CEO Opens Harrods Village at Katara

Doha, December 11 (QNA) - Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) Chief Executive Officer HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani on Friday opened Harrods Village at Katara in the presence of HE Minister of State for Defense Affairs Major General Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah and HE Minister of Transport Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti. The ministers and QIA chief executive officer toured around 13 pavilions of the exhibition that takes place in Qatar for the first time and is held on an area of up to 6,500 square meters. Speaking on that occasion, Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed said the timing of the opening was carefully chosen to coincide with the National Day celebrations. He added that the village was introduced to Qatar after the success it achieved in the Italian island of Sardinia over three years. He extended thanks to all the entities and government institutions that helped in opening the village in a short time. Harrods Village, which will be open for 45 days, includes different products by major global companies and brands such as jewelries and luxury cars and goods. It comes under the joint organization of Harrods and its owner, QIA. The first week will be dedicated to VIPs before the village opens for the public from December 16 to January 24. Daily hours are from 4.00 p.m. to midnight. (QNA)
