ASICS To Open More Stores In Malaysia Next Year

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 17 (Bernama) -- ASICS, a Japanese multi-national corporation athletic equipment company, will open more stores in Malaysia next year in addition to the five that is already operating in the country. ASICS Asia Marketing Director Kenji Oh said the number of additional stores would depend on market demand. "We experience some impact on business following the Goods and Sales Tax (GST) and the weakening ringgit. "However, we are managing the import and export of goods from Vietnam, Indonesia and China very well and providing good quality shoes to our customers," Oh told reporters after the launch of ASICS Foot ID system here Thursday. The ASICS Foot ID is the first-ever technologically advanced foot identification system in Malaysia that uses laser and micro-cameras to scan and analyse a person’s foot. "We provide the ASICS Foot ID service for free. It will help customers find the matching shoe type that follows one's foot profile and running style, maximising performance and minimising injury. "We provide the same level of service to all our consumers as we do to world's top athletes," Oh said. -- BERNAMA
