Thai PM welcomes visiting Cambodian counterpart

BANGKOK, December 18 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha welcomes his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen, who is leading his Cabinet members to officially visit Thailand during December 18-19 for the 2nd Cambodian-Thai Cabinet Retreat. The official reception ceremony was organized at Bangkok's Government House on Friday morning, after which the visiting Cambodian prime minister and his Thai counterpart held their bilateral talks on joint celebrations for the 65th anniversary of the Cambodian-Thai diplomatic relations, the development of their border areas, labour cooperation, trade and investment promotion, cooperation on agricultural products, transport networking and regional and international cooperation. The visiting Cambodian prime minister is scheduled to lead Cambodian business operators to meet their Thai counterparts at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Bangkok on Friday afternoon. In the evening, the Thai prime minister is scheduled to host a dinner reception in honour of his visiting Cambodian counterpart and Cabinet members. The 2nd Cambodian-Thai Cabinet Retreat will be held on December 19, during which the Cambodian and Thai prime ministers will witness the signing of four agreements, aimed to further strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation between the two neighbouring countries in trade, investment and security areas. Cambodia and Thailand plan to triple bilateral trade value by 2020 to be in line with their national economic growth. Besides, Thailand will help promote and support Cambodia's agricultural, educational and socio-cultural sectors. (TNA)
