Malaysian Ringgit Opens Higher Against US Dollar

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 22 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian ringgit opened higher against the US dollar on Tuesday on better demand for the local note as traders took advantage of Monday's decline. At 9.13 am, the local unit was quoted at 4.2920/2970 against the greenback from the 4.3000/3050 recorded at Monday's close. Meanwhile, the ringgit traded mixed against other major currencies. It declined against the Singapore dollar to 3.0500/0558 from 3.0462/0508 and weakened against the euro to 4.6817/6876 from 4.6685/6744. The ringgit appreciated against the yen to 3.5383/5439 from 3.5403/5447 and strengthened against the British pound to 6.3895/3995 from 6.4053/4136. --BERNAMA
