Innovational development of Kazakhstan
Almaty, 07 January 2008, (Khabar) - The president of the country has visited an IT Park and the “Science and innovations” exhibition during his business trip to Almaty. Over 120 scientific developments and innovative projects were demonstrated to the president. The head of the country stressed that it is wrong to rely only on rich natural resources. Nursultan Nazarbayev connects both the further development of the country as well as the well-being of its people with its innovations in particular. The president believes that innovative development is one of the priority directions of the state’s policy. Accumulating scientific and educational potential for the creation and introduction of know-how which is necessary for the economy is among the highest priority tasks for today. Such steps will allow the creation of highly-effective, advanced technology and export-oriented production in the republic.
Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of RK:
- The conditions for further development of this IT Park were created in Kazakhstan. We have the information technologies park in Uralsk, in Karaganda, the centre of biological technologies in Astana and of nanotechnology in Almaty. At present we are working on gathering them all and making them effective in production which was never achieved neither in the Soviet Union nor in Kazakhstan on the whole. There are scientists and innovators who can create innovations which should be put into production.
Today, some different funds including innovation and venture capital that are established in Kazakhstan in order to help scientists implement their projects and make them produced more widely. The main task of a venture capital fund is to implement projects. One of the funds has already implemented 75 innovation projects.
Auelbek Tokzhanov, chairman of board, National Innovation Fund:
- Together with private investors we have formed 6 venture funds based on state-private partnership. They are selecting projects including in the ventures, high technology and innovation. Then, they subsidize them and state and private businesses participate in them. This is how we develop it.
Over 50 companies introduced their projects and technologies at the fair. According to the thinking of scientists, previously private businesses did not pay enough attention to their work. Now, they realized that the introduction of high technologies provides an additional competitive advantage.
Sergey Yashin, vice president of “Kazatomprom” national company:
- We present here two types of products, first one is our own elaboration of “Kazatomprom”, it is high tech tantalum powder. And second product is creating of thermo nuclear experimental mounting and Kazakhstan created first wall of reactor where temperature will be about 100 million degrees.
Gul Nurgaliyeva, president of National Center of Informatization:
- Kazakhstani electronic text books are main body of educational multi media, it is innovation that modernizes educational process. They intensify educational process three times and raise quality of education three times.
