PM opens National Children’s Day events

BANGKOK, Jan 9 (TNA) -- Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha on Saturday called on children to be power of the country in future while adults must set a good example for them to follow. Gen Prayut made his call while presiding over the opening of National Children’s Day 2016 at Sanam Suapa, near Royal Plaza, organised by the Education Ministry. Under the National Children’s Day 2016 motto: “Be Good Children and Be Diligent to Learn for Better Future,” Gen Prayut said he wanted to see children and youths to hold occupations which are needed by Thailand, for example, researchers and designers. Successful adults should set an inspiration for the youngsters to follow while the children must be studious and learn from own experience with an aim to become strong in future because the country is now facing dangers from outside the country too, he said. The Prime Minister later traveled to his office at nearby Government House to officially open the National Children’s Day 2016 evebt there. He also posed pictures with the children and presented gifts to 29 outstanding and disabled children who visited and appreciated the grandeur of the Government House while many of them had an opportunity to visit his office and sit on his working chair.
