Putin to discuss Mideast situation, energy cooperation with Emir of Qatar - Kremlin

MOSCOW, January 15. /TASS/. President Vladimir Putin will hold talks with Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on January 18 in Moscow to discuss Syria and the Mideast situation, the Kremlin press office reported on Friday. The sides will also discuss interaction in the energy sphere, the Kremlin press office said. "The forthcoming meeting will focus on comprehensive measures to build up Russian-Qatari cooperation in the trade and economic, investment, energy and humanitarian spheres," the Kremlin said. "A substantial exchange of opinions is expected on topical issues of the international agenda, primarily the situation in the Middle East and North Africa," the Kremlin press office said. Al Thani’s trip to Russia scheduled for January 17-19 on the invitation of the Russian president will be his first official visit to Moscow. Read more
