M'sian Ringgit Opens Higher Against US Dollar

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 19 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian ringgit extended Monday's gains to open higher against the US dollar Tuesday morning on continued buying momentum for local currency, dealers said. At 9.05 am, the local unit stood at 4.3815/3875 from 4.3930/3000 against the US dollar on Monday. The ringgit was also traded higher against other emerging currencies. It traded better against the Singapore dollar at 3.0463/0524 from 3.0528/0587 on Monday and rose against the yen to 3.7268/7339 from 3.7425/7501 Monday. It appreciated against the British pound to 6.2454/2548 from 6.2816/2933 on Monday and strengthened against the euro to 4.7697/7780 from 4.7831/7925 previously. -- BERNAMA
