President affirms maintaining efforts to end Israeli attacks on Gaza, heal Palestinian rift

SANA'A, Jan. 07 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh affirmed on
Wednesday the importance of healing the Palestinian rift and
reinforcing the Palestinian unity, expressing sorrow for what the
Palestinian people in Gaza Strip face by the barbaric Israeli air
strikes under Arab and international silence, and the division in
the Palestinian unity.

In an interview with the Al-Wasat paper, Saleh said that if there
were a strong Arab stance, it would be possible to make pressure on
the US and UN member states and force Israel to end its offensive on
Gaza Strip people and implement resolution of the international
legitimacy.

He renewed Yemen's stance to continue efforts to stop this Israeli
aggression and heal the rift in the Palestinian unity.

In the local affairs, he reaffirmed the importance of holding the
upcoming Parliamentary election in due time, noting that election is
the core of the democratic process.

He said that there is no national crisis and those who claim this
crisis are the people who have this crisis.
