31 foreign companies approved to invest in Thailand in January

BANGKOK, Jan 22 (TNA) -- A total of 31 foreign firms were approved to invest more than 1.077 billion baht in Thailand in January, said Pongpun Gearaviriyapun, director-general of Commerce Ministry’s Business Development Department. Ms Pongpun said the new foreign enterprises would employ 1,731 Thai employees. Majority of the new foreign investors are from Belgium, Japan and Singapore. She said these new foreign firms would transfer technology know-how to the locals besides further developing Thailand’s economy, social and security which are in line with the Thai government’s policy.
