President Saleh visits archaeological site in Sana`a

SANA'A, Jan. 07 (Saba) - President Ali Abdullah Saleh paid on
Wednesday a visit to an archaeological site Raymat Humaid in Sanahan
District of Sana'a governorate.

The President listened to an explanation of the significance of this
discovery that dates back to early times of the Bronze Age.

Saleh directed the concerned bodies to speed up the documentation of
the site contents and continuing the excavation in the various
archaeological sites throughout the country, asserting the
importance of preserving and maintain antiquities.

The site was unearthed during building a road in Jabal al-Ja'ar at
Sanahan district. It includes the remains of oval-shaped housing
settlements, the site also contains rock inscriptions and animals
paintings as well as some inscription written in the musnad.
