Qatar Development Fund Holds Workshop

Doha, February 16 (QNA) - Qatar Development Fund (QDF) organized a workshop attended by representatives of ministries, government institutions and charitable organizations to discuss how the government bodies participate in international development projects and activities. QDF's workshop, which aimed at emphasizing the importance and role of local partnerships in achieving sustainable development goals, seeks to effectively enhance Qatar's foreign humanitarian aid and development to achieve outstanding development impact by providing in-kind assistance, technical support as well as to benefit from the expertise, capacities and skills available in all ministries and government agencies.    The workshop's participants were from the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Energy and Industry, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Public Works Authority, Qatar Airways, Qatar Armed Forces, the Government Communication Office, the Primary Health Care Corporation, and Hamad Medical Corporation.    The participating charities were Qatar Charity, Qatar Red Crescent Society, Sheikh Eid Charitable Association, and Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services, in addition to Education Above All Foundation and Silatech foundation. QDF Director General Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari said that the cooperation between QDF and government agencies will promote the effectiveness of foreign humanitarian aid and development extended by the State of Qatar, and would highlight the role of the State of Qatar in international cooperation in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.      The workshop reviewed types of in-kind assistance, expertise and technical assistance that can be provided by each ministry or governmental institution.      The participants agreed on an action plan and coordination mechanism between the authorities concerned to activate their cooperation and effectively develop Qatar's foreign aid. Qatar Development Fund (QDF) is a Qatari public organization established to coordinate and implement foreign assistance on behalf of the State of Qatar. It aims at helping countries to develop their economies and implement development programs by providing loans, grants and technical assistance for the economic and social development of these countries.
