DIMDEX Inks Italian Shipbuilder As Diamond Sponsor
Doha, March 09 (QNA) - Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) Chairman has praised Italian commercial and combatant shipbuilder Fincantieri for supporting the fifth edition of DIMDEX as returning exhibitor and Diamond Sponsor.
DIMDEX 2016 Organising Committee recently signed a sponsorship agreement with Fincantieri. The exhibition will be held at the Qatar National Convention Centre from March 29 to 31 March. QNB Group is the Main Sponsor of DIMDEX 2016.
Fincantieri designs and builds aircraft carriers, frigates, corvettes, patrol vessels, in addition to support ships and submarines as well as commercial cruise ships and ferries.
DIMDEX Chairman Brig. Dr. (Eng) Thani A. Al-Kuwari said, "The strength of our partnership with Fincantieri is reflected in their continued commitment to DIMDEX as one of our most prominent returning exhibitors.
"We are proud that key organisations like Fincantieri are so strongly maintaining their support to DIMDEX as it continues to grow, bringing together this year an even greater number of participants to be hosted by the Qatar Armed Forces."
Commenting on the announcement of the sponsorship, Fincantieri Middle East Market Development Vice President Achille Fulfaro said, "Fincantieri is proud to be a sponsor and exhibitor of DIMDEX, a world class exhibition and conference that creates a platform for international defence industry leaders to share knowledge as well as showcasing innovative maritime defence technologies. DIMDEX 2016 is set to be the largest specialised maritime naval defence and security exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Several new countries will take part this year as well as new exhibitors showcasing the latest technologies. DIMDEX 2016 also sees an expansion in the event's scope to cover new sectors such as maritime aviation, naval base security, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), maritime patrol aircrafts and coastal surveillance systems, organisers said.
