Saleduck Opens Asia Office In Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 (Bernama) -- Netherland-based online coupon and deals platform provider, Saleduck, has opened its Asia office here to reap the potential of the e-commerce in the region. Chief executive officer Domingo Karsten said with a market size of US$770 billion, the Asian e-commerce market is the biggest globally. "Also, the market's growth rate of 44 per cent is a lot higher than other continents," he said in a statement Friday, adding, the company expanded its presence to eight European countries last year. Karsten said starting with 12 employees, the Kuala Lumpur office would be supervised by chief technology officer, Ben Rogmans Jr and commercial manager Rosanne Hortensius. He added that the company is also planning to expand its presence to five Southeast Asian countries this year. Meanwhile, Rogmans Jr said Malaysia had a good environment for start-ups and the company is very comfortable doing business in the country. "Moreso, now, that the government has rewarded our ambitious plans with the prestigious MSC status," he said. The MSC status is granted by the government to offer innovative multimedia companies substantial business benefits. Currently, the Saleduck platform is already available in Malaysia and Singapore, collaborating with AirAsia, Uber and Groupon. While the company is self-funded, the company is welcoming strategic investors to accelerate its growth with planned investment amounts of 500,000 euros. --BERNAMA
