Bahrain GP geared to achieve big revenues

Manama, Mar. 28 (BNA): Businesspeople and economists said Bahrain Grand Prix for Formula 1 due to be hosted by Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) at Sakhir on April 1-3 will generate an exceptional $ 0.5 billion revenue into Bahrain's GDP at least. They concurred that boosting Bahrain's transformation to the home of motorsport in the Middle East will increase the economic gain for the local market, covering all main pillars of the national economy including the sectors of trade, tourism transportation and services, Earlier on, Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed stated that the sales of BIC since the year 2006 and until 31 March 2015 had generated BD 75,963,000. Latest figures released by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT) showed the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) sales have risen to more than BD 10 million in 2014 alone. According to MTT statistics, BIC company assets registered a remarkable growth over recent years starting from 2012. The company's assets rose to BD 91,913,000 then once again rose in 2012 to 94,992,00 and achieved in 2014 an additional growth attaining BD 97,248,00 and finally achieved quantum leaps by an amount of BD 7 million on 31 March 2015 reaching BD 104,332,000 in total assets.
