Qatar Development Fund Allocates QR10 Million for Aleppo

Doha, May 16 (QNA) - Qatar Development Fund allocated QR10 million in relief to the affected people in Syrian city of Aleppo. The relief, which aims to enhance the nutrition sector, non-food items, shelter and medical services, includes children's milk, ambulances, medicines and medical supplies and crew, in addition to water, personal hygiene kits, tents and civil defense equipment. The relief projects provided by the Fund are implemented in accordance with international standards of humanitarian aid, as these projects are approved by the United Nations Organization for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs to be within the immediate humanitarian response plan. This emergency relief comes in the light of the State of Qatar's pledge of $100 million, announced at the donor conference in the United Kingdom, to meet the urgent humanitarian needs of the stricken city. Qatar Development Fund is funding these relief projects by virtue of its humanitarian obligations that fall under Qatar's contributions and its development and humanitarian aid provided through the world.
