Gloria Jean's Invites Asia's Baristas To Join Competition

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- Australia-based Gloria Jean’s Coffees has invited baristas in Asia to participate in its Asia Barista Championships here on Aug 6. The winner will have an opportunity to attend the Retail Food Group (RFG) International Barista Championships in the Gold Coast, Australia in September, and win AU$3,000 (about US$2,282) and the title of RFG International Barista Champion. In a statement Thursday, Gloria Jean's Coffees Market Development Manager Phi Nguyen said more than 10 competitors from eight Asian nations are expected to compete in the Asia regional final . "The winner will progress to the global grand final to be held in the Gold Coast," Phi said.
