Dominant's US$4.01 Million New Factory To Commence Operations By End-2016

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 22 (Bernama) -- Dominant Enterprise Bhd's new US$4.01 million (RM16.2 million) integrated laminated panel factory-cum-warehouse in Bukit Mertajam city of Malaysia's northern state Penang, will commence operations by year-end. Dominant said the new facility was expected to contribute five per cent to the group's revenue in two years. "The facility, which will provide larger warehousing capacity, is also to cater to the needs of customers in northern Peninsular Malaysia and southern Thailand," Deputy Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Danny Owee, said in a statement on Monday. He said the group aimed to expand its footprint in Thailand. "Since 2013, we have managed to penetrate a few provinces which contributed three per cent to the group's total revenue for the financial year of 2016 (FY16). "With our expanded product porfolio, we are targeting to enter more provinces in FY17 and further reinforce our footing in Thailand," said Owee. He said the demand for the company's products from northern Peninsular Malaysia had also been growing steadily, in line with the increasing house-buying activities and economic development. Dominant, a Malaysia-based investment holding company is a manufacturer of flat laminated wood panel products and environmentally-friendly wood moulding products which are mainly used in the interior design, furniture manufacturing and construction sector. --BERNAMA
