BNM-OJK Pact To Help Entry Into Indon Mart - RHB Bank

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- RHB Bank Bhd expects the bilateral agreement signed between Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM or Malaysia's Central Bank) to support its continuous intention to penetrate the Indonesian market. "The bank is still keen on finding something that is right for the group when it comes to acquiring new entity," said Group Managing Director, Khairussaleh Ramli. Khairussaleh said this to reporters after announcing the bank's first-half 2016 financial results here Wednesday. He said at this point there was nothing on the table for the bank to look at and when it did it will have to evaluate the opportunity. Last July, OJK rejected the bank's intention to acquire a 40 per cent stake in PT Bank Mestika Dharma Tbk. In 2009, the bank had proposed to acquire 80 per cent of Bank Mestika for US$287.03 million (RM1.16 billion). --BERNAMA
